Aldenham Fives Players Qualify for EFA Semi-Finals
17/01/2017
Congratulations to: Darshan Patel (R2006-12), Josh Rose (B1994-99), Andrew Rennie (M2006-13), Oli Lawton (L1997-2002), and Paul Kendall (K1976-81) as well as Tim Thurnham and Richard Dennis who are not OAs, for making it through in top slot to the semi-finals of the Eton Fives Association (EFA) Trophy.
The EFA Trophy qualifying rounds took place at Eton on Sunday 15th January 2017 in tricky wet conditions for the second year in succession. Nine teams and over sixty players battled it out in a tremendous day of Fives to decide which four teams would go through to the semi-finals later in the season. The competition was incredibly close, with the qualifiers only finally being decided by the last shot of the last match and a whole host of teams separated by tiny margins. In the end the semi-finals on Sunday March 12th at Eton will see defending champions Oxford University take on local rivals North Oxford in a repeat of last year's final and 2015 champions Aldenham up against 2010 & 2012 winners the Old Wulfrunians.
