Margaret Howlett-Jones, Paull's Housemaster's wife 1972-87, will be the guest of the OA Society at their Annual Dinner at Aldenham on a Saturday 7 March 2020. During the evening tributes will be paid to Richard Jones (CR1962-94) who died in November last year. Richard was a much loved and admired teacher at Aldenham for thirty two years. He joined as Head of English and was a Tutor in McGill's for four years. He was then Housemaster in Paull's for fifteen years and Deputy Head for a decade, from 1982 to 92."He was, quite simply, the person to ignite my career as an author and professional writer" - Gary Bartholomew (K1969-73)."Richard showed compassion and forgiveness time after time. He inspired me to become a teacher of English and English Literature, a Housemaster and eventually a Headmaster. Whenever I was faced with challenges from both pupils and members of staff, I remembered Richard Jones. He would give someone a chance to redeem themselves and maybe another chance. Richard was one of the Aldenham Greats". Andrew Hunter (P1972-77).
