In November 2019 Keith Fowler (SHO1947-52) was invested with an MBE, awarded to him in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, for a lifetime of voluntary service and work for charity. On leaving Aldenham, Keith served as an Officer in the army in Egypt before embarking on a successful career in advertising and marketing communications, which included a short spell with Procter and Gamble. During his working life Keith worked for and lead UK and French marketing communications groups, often involving reconstruction, innovation, merger and recovery. After retirement from the corporate life, when he was 60, he became a consultant and Non-Executive Director with a number of companies in the marketing and communications sector, including working for the European Bank in the Baltic States and 3i in the UK.Keith’s involvement in charity work goes back many years. He has been intimately and still is involved as a Trustee of the media industry charity NABS (National Advertising Benevolent Society), as well as a director of the Abbeyfield organisation, providers of sheltered housing and care homes, another role that he continues to pursue. Close to Keith’s heart has always been Winchester House School, a greatly respected and thriving prep school, located in Northamptonshire, where he was Chairman of Governors for many years. At the age of 85, Keith is still heavily involved in his charity work and enjoys an active family life with his wife, Vicki, three married children and six grandchildren. Many congratulations to Keith on this lifetime achievement. It is always a pleasure to see his smiling face at OA events and he is a welcome visitor to Aldenham, whenever his busy schedule enables him to attend.
